App Store Removes Old Apps

t looks like Apple continues to provide more updates to the App Store. The company was noticed to remove apps that are outdated. They wipe only those apps that were not updated for some time.

Apple gets rid of the apps that are no longer supported by its developers. The longer updates were not made the more chances that the app is going to be removed. Developers who lose interest in their apps receive notifications from the company. In the email, sent by Apple, the company warns them that the app will be removed in 30 days. During this time developers have to make updates or say goodbye to their apps in App Store.

Apple promises that the app will be available for all the users on the store, including the new ones if it is updated within 30 days. If developers do not make updates, the app is removed from sales. Meanwhile, users who already downloaded the app will be able to continue using the app. If you keep the app on your device, it will not be removed anywhere.

Game developers have already begun to complain about the new rule. Many of them say that they don’t need to make any updates inside the game. Indie game developer Robert Kabwe from Protopop Games shared the email sent from Apple on the official Twitter page. He said that his Motivoto game is in danger, mainly because there were no updates. The developer believes that it is unfair, since many games even from 2000 are still there, on the market. According to Kabwe, Apple wants to remove the game that is still fully functional. The last time it was updated was in March 2019. Another developer Kosta Eleftheriou said that his app FlickType Apple Watch keyboard was recently removed, while it was designed for the visually impaired.
