Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 Loads ISPs Like No Other Game Before

hile any Call of Duty installment aims to set some type of record, the one broken by Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is probably the most desired for any online game. As a British ISP reports, this game loaded its network as much as no game before. And for a multiplayer one, it’s a worthy achievement to mark.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 was released on November 16, and enough time has passed for the players to start enjoying it in full. The game was among the most expected in the franchise, and the record influx of players shouldn’t have come as a surprise. At least, for Activision. But for some others, it still did.

As Virgin Media O2 reports, November 16 was the day with heaviest traffic related to gaming activity it has ever experienced. This can only be attributed to the release of Warzone 2.0, a multiplayer with heavy visuals that require a lot of data to be transferred. An absolute record in gaming load, it’s the second overall, only beaten on October 19. That day was indeed hard to beat; on that day, five Premier League matches were streamed on Amazon Prime, and hardly will any video game beat soccer in the UK. But even despite the controversial reception of Warzone 2.0 (only 34% positive reviews on Steam), the game retains popularity and is widely played even before it gets fixed.

Yet this is still an impressive feat by Activision which has some of its own records beaten by this. For example, the day Warzone 2.0 launched, the related traffic was76% higher than that on the release date of the first Warzone and 33% higher than on the day Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II was released. Another data load record set by the franchise is, again, related to CoD: Warzone; it happened the day Season 3 started.

Are you one of those players who started playing Warzone 2.0 the very first day on its release? And did you like it? Were there any issues with connection, framerate, and stuff? Tell us about your impressions in the comments section!
