orrowind Removed is a mod for Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, which completely removes the content from Vvardenfell, replacing it with open water. It presents players with a new, yet familiar, experience by keeping the island of Solstheim intact. This mod was created by CaffeineSnake and discovered by Elder Scrolls YouTuber Micky D. It provides a unique experience for Morrowind fans and adds an extra challenge as players find themselves navigating throughout the vast ocean.
The mod itself is easy to install - drag and drop the .esp file into the Data Files folder and launch the game. However, when the player launches the game, they will immediately receive an error message stating that the game cannot find the deleted region in the load for cell Wilderness. After confirming to continue running executable, they will enter the game to find that it is still running but with much less content.
Players can explore the world with their own characters or start a new one. However, if the player is using the original game, they will find it difficult to get the mod running due to issues with load orders, but with the OpenMW source port, it is much easier. With this version, the player can immediately take their character and enter the world. What awaits them is an empty sea and, if Bloodmoon is installed, the island of Solstheim.
Exploring this vast open sea can be a thrilling experience and one that Morrowind fans will enjoy. For a complete version of the game, there are other mods, such as Tribunal and Solstheim Erasers, which can provide a full sensory deprivation tank experience. Regardless, players will find a unique and immersive adventure awaiting them when they play Morrowind Removed.
In conclusion, Morrowind Removed is an exciting mod that enhances the classic game with its unique open sea setting. The mod can be easily installed and explored in the original game or with OpenMW's source port, providing players an interesting and fresh experience. With other mods, such as Tribunal and Solstheim Erasers, players can fully immerse themselves in a unique adventure and explore the alternate version of Morrowind.
