Android Auto Users Lose Access to Waze

ot on the heels of the recent Android Auto 7.2 update bug that made many Google Maps users lose access to one of the most helpful navigation tools in the world, there is another beloved driving app that is now missing. Multiple comments posted by Waze users say that after installing Android 12, the application is nowhere to be found. Several other reports claim YouTube Music might have suffered the same fate. Google has already launched an investigation to see what is causing the problem and how it can be resolved quickly; however, no ETA has been provided just yet.
Here is what we know about the unfortunate event for now:
The Waze glitch does not seem to have affected everyone who downloaded and installed Android 12. The loss of this driving app is currently only happening to a limited number of Android Auto users, so there is a good chance that the latest OS update will run smoothly on your device. It remains to be seen whether the issue will become more commonplace over time as the rollout of Android 12 continues, bringing the update to more Samsung devices.
The earlier malfunction that took down Google Maps on Android Auto made navigation while driving a challenging task again and cost the company many customers who decided to abandon the once-handy driver’s solution to switch to something more reliable. If Google cannot identify the problem and get the app back on track soon enough, the same might happen to its Waze users.
If you are experiencing the above difficulties, try rolling back to the older app versions, as reinstalling or reconfiguring the latest software update is unlikely to do the trick.
