This decision aligns with recent adjustments aimed at simplifying the acquisition of class-specific Runes through factions such as the Azeroth Commerce Authority and Durotar Supply and Logistics.
The Season of Discovery brought about the introduction of Runes—potent class abilities and passives that substantially alter class gameplay. Presently, each class has twelve Runes available, with one attainable from the player’s respective faction upon achieving a specified reputation level. World of Warcraft has recently toned down the reputation requisite for these Runes from Honored to Friendly, effectively making them more readily accessible.
Despite the popularity of this modification, some players expressed concern that reaching Honored status had lost its primary incentive, as the big-ticket Rune rewards could now be obtained with a lesser reputation level. A World of Warcraft enthusiast named Zendorx reached out on Twitter voicing this exact concern, prompting a response from the game's senior producer, Josh Greenfield, known to the community as Aggrend. He assured fans that the team was devising "some interesting things" to bestow upon those who reach Honored status. Nevertheless, Aggrend clarified that the priority was to make Runes more obtainable initially.

Before their break, the focus was to stabilize class balance and iron out bugs to ensure the game remained in top shape during the developers' absence. There's a consensus that while a 12-slot bag serves as a universal boon, the profession-specific recipes highlighted among the existing rewards cater to only a handful of players.
