t looks like Amazon is taking away popular e-book models from China. Kindle appeared in this country over 9 years ago. It grew some popularity despite all the issues that Amazon faced trying to sell the product amid numerous regulations from the local government.

Online shopping mall Alibaba that hosted Tmall, the official store of Kindle does not have this department anymore. The store was closed back in October. You will not find Kindle on the official Chinese-Amazon store Amazon.cn. While JD.com is still working, there are no Kindle models left. You may still find something on WeChat if you are lucky enough.

Amazon officials do not confirm the information about possible problems with their stores in China. Instead, they revealed the information that Kindle models were simply sold out. Some models, according to the official statement, can still be bought from third-party retailers, both offline and online. There is no information from Amazon about the reasons why the Alibaba department was closed and why there are no stocked products. Instead, the company says that it is still dedicated to consumers in China and wants to provide them with high-quality products.

In November Amazon disbanded the team that worked with Kindle devices, according to the social media post made by BK Economy reporter. BK Economy is part of Beijing News. The Chinese department of Amazon refused to provide any comments.

Amazon in China provided the Chinese version of the popular Kindle device, the same as it was with the iPhone. Chinese edition was similar to the original one with aftersales service based in China. If the department with Kindle closes in China, even third-party retailers are limited with the import of Kindle models to the country.
