Tango Gameworks' Future Brightens as Krafton Acquires Studio and Hi-Fi Rush Franchise

icrosoft faced significant backlash when it unexpectedly revealed the impending closure of Tango Gameworks, Arkane Austin, and two additional Xbox studios. The situation with Tango raised numerous questions, especially since numerous heads of Xbox Game Studios had expressed admiration for the studio following the release of Hi-Fi Rush. There was considerable anticipation for potential sequels or new creative endeavors, but it seemed that such hopes might have to be relinquished—until now. Krafton, primarily recognized as the publisher behind PUBG, has announced its acquisition of Tango Gameworks from Xbox, alongside the rights to the Hi-Fi Rush franchise. The positive developments don’t end there, as Krafton has communicated that it aims to partner with Xbox and ZeniMax to facilitate a seamless transition while preserving the continuity at Tango Gameworks. This will enable the talented staff to continue working on the Hi-Fi Rush property and to explore new projects, ensuring that those who have not yet secured new positions can remain engaged in creating outstanding games at the studio established by Shinji Mikami.
